Biography - Stuart Walls  BA  MSc

After graduating with a Psychology degree from London University, Stuart spent his early career in the USA working in the import and distribution business and consulting on inward investment opportunities. Returning to the UK in 1986, he became Managing Director of a manufacturing and contracting company operating in the water industry throughout the UK. He also ran an independent sales and marketing organisation assisting environmental companies in the UK and USA.

Having seen at first hand the importance of getting the human side of business right - recruitment, training, organisational design and other factors - Stuart completed a Masters in Occupational Psychology at Leicester University, his dissertation being published by the British Psychological Society.

Moving into the public sector with a unitary authority in Scotland, Stuart became heavily involved in job evaluation, pay and grading, Single Status and equal pay issues. He used this experience to develop his own methodologies for developing new pay structures for organisations including the use of job family structures and efficient moderation processes. A S Walls Ltd was formed in 2007 and Stuart has since undertaken successful contracts in England and Scotland (references available upon request).
